ADHD Testing
Understanding That Guides Your Next Steps.
At Mindful Therapy, we believe understanding your brain changes everything.
ADHD isn’t just a diagnosis. It’s a different way of experiencing, processing, and responding to the world. That’s why we believe it’s important to consider whether neurodivergence may be part of the picture for every client. The more accurately we understand how your brain works, the more personalized, effective, and compassionate therapy can become.
When ADHD is part of the picture, the work often shifts. Instead of asking, “Why can’t I just be more organized?” we begin asking, “What supports does my brain actually need?” Rather than focusing solely on changing behaviors, we also explore executive functioning, nervous system regulation, emotional overwhelm, sensory experiences, self-compassion, and practical strategies that work with your brain instead of against it.
Our goal isn’t to help you fit someone else’s definition of success. It’s to help you understand yourself more deeply, recognize your strengths, and build a life that feels sustainable, authentic, and aligned with the way your brain naturally works.
Testing
ADHD isn’t always easy to recognize. Many of its symptoms overlap with anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic stress, and even burnout. In fact, many adults spend years wondering why nothing seems to fully help, only to discover later that ADHD has been part of the picture all along.
QB Testing is an FDA-cleared, computerized assessment that provides objective information about attention, impulsivity, and activity level. During the assessment, you’ll complete a simple computer task while a motion-tracking sensor measures movement. The results give us valuable data that we combine with a clinical interview, your history, and your lived experience to help determine whether ADHD is contributing to what you’ve been experiencing.
Our goal isn’t simply to answer, “Do I have ADHD?” Our goal is to better understand how your brain works so you can stop guessing and start moving forward with clarity.
Results
After your assessment, you’ll meet with one of our therapists to review your results together. We’ll explain what they mean, answer your questions, and help you understand how they fit with your unique experiences.
You’ll receive a copy of your results to keep, and if you’re interested in exploring medication, you can share your report with your primary care provider or psychiatrist as part of that conversation.
Whether your results support an ADHD diagnosis or point us in a different direction, our hope is that you leave with something even more valuable than a diagnosis: a deeper understanding of yourself. We believe clarity creates compassion, and understanding yourself is often the first step toward meaningful change.
Interventions
A diagnosis is never the finish line. It’s the beginning of understanding yourself in a new way.
If ADHD is part of your story, we’ll help you learn how to work with your brain instead of constantly feeling like you’re working against it. Together, we’ll explore practical strategies for executive functioning, organization, time management, emotional regulation, and managing the constant mental “tabs” that so many people with ADHD describe. We’ll also look at calming the nervous system, reducing shame and self-criticism, and building routines that fit your life instead of trying to force yourself into systems that were never designed for the way your brain works.
At Mindful Therapy, we don’t believe ADHD is something that needs to be “fixed.” We believe it’s something that deserves to be understood. It’s about giving you a map. Once you understand how your brain works, you can stop blaming yourself for struggling and start building a life that honors your strengths while supporting the areas that have always felt hard.
