Hi, I’m Angela! I offer a warm, honest space where you can let your guard down, feel understood, and begin making sense of whatever life has handed you.
At the same time, you’re always in the driver’s seat. You know yourself and your life better than anyone else, and I see my role as helping you understand yourself more deeply—not telling you who to be or what choices to make.
My approach is influenced by Internal Family Systems, which helps us understand the different “parts” of ourselves with curiosity rather than criticism. I also use practical tools to help you manage difficult thoughts and emotions, change unhelpful patterns, and make progress toward the things that matter to you. You don’t need to know any therapy language before we begin. We’ll figure out what works for you together.
Because of my background in crisis intervention, I’m also comfortable sitting with people during really difficult moments. I don’t scare easily, and I won’t shy away when things feel messy, painful, or overwhelming. We can slow everything down, take it one step at a time, and help you find your footing again.
Hi, I’m Angela! I’m a therapist intern who believes therapy should feel like a place where you can exhale, be honest, and show up exactly as you are—even if you’re overwhelmed, unsure where to begin, or still trying to put what you’re feeling into words.
I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, family conflict, big life changes, substance use, and those moments when life simply feels like too much. I’m especially passionate about supporting immigrants and clients who are balancing different cultures, identities, family expectations, or ideas about who they are “supposed” to be.
As an immigrant myself, I understand how complicated it can feel to navigate belonging, identity, cultural expectations, and generational differences. Sometimes you’re trying to honor where you came from while also figuring out who you want to become—and that can bring up a lot. You deserve a space where all parts of your experience are welcome and where you don’t have to explain or minimize what those pressures feel like.
I’m warm, curious, collaborative, and actively engaged in the conversation. I won’t just sit silently and nod while you do all the work! I’ll ask thoughtful questions, help you notice patterns, offer honest reflections, and gently challenge you when it may help you see something differently.
On a personal note…
I believe change begins when we approach ourselves with curiosity and compassion instead of judgment. My hope is that you’ll leave therapy with a better understanding of yourself, practical tools for difficult moments, and greater trust in your ability to handle what comes next.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. I’m also a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and certified in Mental Health First Aid.
Outside of therapy, I love reading, playing video games, hiking, coloring, trying new foods, and spending time with the people I love. These are the things that help me reset and reconnect with myself.
I’m also a big believer that self-care doesn’t need to be elaborate to matter. If I don’t have an hour, I remind myself that even five minutes count. Sometimes self-care is a hike or getting lost in a good book; other times, it’s a few quiet minutes with a coloring page. Small, consistent care is still care.
A few fun facts about me: I have three first names, and I share the same middle name as my siblings. I also once met four famous Filipino actors at the U.S. Embassy—and they signed my bedtime storybook!
