Betrayal
Hi, I’m Shaunda! I help adults move through difficult seasons, reconnect with themselves, and create lives that feel more authentic, fulfilling, and joyful.
Together, we’ll look at the patterns keeping you stuck, make space for the feelings you’ve been trying to push through, and practice handling anxiety, sadness, or stress in ways that actually help. We might work on speaking up more clearly, setting boundaries without drowning in guilt, or figuring out who you are—and what you want—outside of everyone else’s expectations.
I pull from several therapy approaches, but you don’t need to know the terminology or arrive with a perfectly organized list of goals. We’ll use whatever tools fit you. All you need is a little curiosity and a willingness to look at what isn’t working anymore.
The goal isn’t to make sure you never feel anxious, sad, or overwhelmed again. It’s to make sure those feelings don’t get to run the whole show.
I want you to leave therapy knowing yourself better, trusting your own judgment, and feeling more confident using your voice. You’ll have stronger boundaries, healthier relationship patterns, and real tools for getting through hard days. Most importantly, I hope you’ll reconnect with the parts of yourself that got buried under painful experiences, difficult relationships, or years of being who everyone else needed.
Your past is part of your story—but it doesn’t get to write the next chapter.
I work with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship struggles, and those major life changes that make you wonder, “Okay…now what?” I’m especially passionate about helping women heal after betrayal, divorce, or the end of an important relationship—because losing the relationship can also mean losing your confidence, your sense of direction, and the future you thought you were building.
Therapy with me is warm, honest, collaborative, and very human. I know it can feel strange to sit down with someone you just met and start sharing the most personal parts of your life, so you won’t be expected to spill everything in session one. We’ll build trust as we go.
I believe you need to feel understood before you can feel challenged. I’ll listen, help you make sense of your story, and offer plenty of compassion—but I’ll also help you spot patterns, ask the questions that get you thinking, and gently call you in when needed. We can do meaningful work without making every minute feel heavy. There’s room for humor, personality, and being a real person here.
If you’ve spent years caring for everyone else, holding everything together, or becoming who other people needed you to be, you may have lost track of what you actually want. Together, we’ll turn down the noise, reconnect with your own voice, and start figuring out what comes next.
On a personal note…
I’m a Resident in Counseling, but I’m also a real person who believes there should always be room for humor, rest, great food, and reality television.
Dubai has my heart, and international travel is one of my favorite things. I love experiencing new cultures, trying great food, and exploring somewhere completely different from home. I also firmly believe that life needs moments that are fun simply because they’re fun—not because they’re productive, impressive, or helping us check something off a list.
When I need something a little less adventurous, you’ll probably find me watching one of the Real Housewives franchises. Yes, I watch the reunions. Yes, I have opinions.
I’m also an entertaining mix of structure and spontaneity. I love a good plan, a beautifully organized calendar, and knowing exactly what’s coming next—but I also love trying something new and occasionally throwing the entire plan out the window. Somehow, I can overthink the smallest decision and then make a major life choice with complete confidence. Human beings are full of contradictions, and I think there’s something wonderful about that.
One thing I’m considerably less playful about is unnecessary lateness when we agreed on a time. I value people’s time, clear communication, and knowing what the plan is—even if we later decide to change it.
My own version of self-care is not always productive. Sometimes it’s traveling or enjoying time with people I love. Sometimes it’s laughter, rest, or doing absolutely nothing. I don’t believe caring for yourself is something you have to earn after every other task is finished, and I’ll encourage you to discover what genuinely restores you—not what someone else says self-care is supposed to look like.
Above all, I believe in making room for joy. Healing matters, growth matters, and so do the moments that remind us life is meant to be lived.
